NTFS is a driver for OS X Leopard that allows you to read and write volumes formatted for the NTFS file system, a feature of Windows operating systems.
If you've used BootCamp to create a partition for Windows, thanks to NTFS for Mac you can transfer files between the two. NTFS for Mac uses two utilities to accomplish this: NTFS 3G and MacFuse.

NTFS also allows Disk Utility to format a unit using the NTFS file system.
